Les Janissaires !

L’ancienne mosquée des Janissaires à La Canée (Hania) avec au fond le phare vénitien. Les janissaires formaient un ordre militaire très puissant composé d’esclaves d’origine européenne et initialement de confession chrétienne avant leur conversion à l’islam, constituant l’élite de l’infanterie de l’armée ottomane à l’apogée de l’Empire. Les corps de janissaires, devenu trop encombrant pour le pouvoir, furent définitivement éliminés par le sultan Mahmud II en 1826.

The Janissaries formed a very powerful military order consisting of slaves of European origin and initially of Christian denomination before their conversion to Islam, constituting the elite infantry of the Ottoman army at the height of the Empire. Le lac de Pourdouze est situé dans le département du Puy de Dôme (France) à proximité du puy de Sancy sur la commune de Besse-et-Saint-Anastaise; Il est d’origine glaciaire, à une superficie de 15 ha, et à une altitude de 1186 m et dont la ballade autour de celui ci est très agréable et accessible à tous.
